Dear Mr. President
You ran on a platform of change. I appreciate you have a monumental task and the predictions for our economy on all the media outlooks call for doom and gloom.
But more than anything else that is happening what bothers me most is all thousands of ‘earmarks’ or pork from special interest groups within the most recent bill that was written and passed by our legislative branch.
It is your responsibility to veto all the ‘pork’ and special projects put in. It is the same and is as disturbing as the corporate greed we’ve seen happening in our country. However, don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe we need more gov’t or regulations, I believe we need less control but that isn’t what is happening in your new administration. I see gov’t becoming even more intrusive in my life and we’re heading towards socialism, something we’ve been fighting and our fore-fathers have died to guard against!
I am a half-full glass kind of a person but everyday it is getting exceedingly more difficult to see the positive side of each day. It is dis-heartening to hear your spokesperson saying the pork and ear marks in this bill is last years business! No Mr. President, this bill was written and approved this year, on your watch, it is your responsibility to make sure the pork is cut, to make sure you are not seen as bowing down to these political influences. I just heard you speaking about you are not in Washington to bow to political interests and to make sweeping change which was the mandate of the American public. So if this is true then prove it!
Please, Mr. President, I appeal to you to show you’re for the people and against the pork by cutting the fat!!!
P.S. You may want to refer the Senate and Congress to brush up on their Economics by taking this FREE online course.
P.P.S.S. The CNN commentator, Roland says we don’t care about earmarks! Hmmm, he needs to talk to REAL people – YES WE DO CARE ABOUT EARMARKS!!!!!!!!!!!
